Mary Kimball Dressage
Mary is a USDF certified instructor T-2, and a British Horse Society horsemaster and instructor. She spent 9 months studying in Dublin, Ireland with Iris Kellet. She has trained extensively with Lilo Fore, Conrad Schumacher, Debbie McDonald and many others.
Mary has 20 years experience working with Thoroughbreds, which is a plus, as most of us ride horses with at least some TB blood in them. Over the years she has bred, raised and trained thoroughbreds for racing initially, then encorporated them into a warmblood breeding program as she delved more extensively into dressage studies. Her main performance mare "Dorina" is a 9 year-old imported Hanoverian who is showing currently at 3rd level. She was purchased in 2001 as a green dressage prospect with 60 days training. To watch Mary and Dorina work is to see an example of Mary's kind training.
Her style is classically based, with emphasis on the training scale: relaxation & rhythm, forwardness, straightness, throughness, suppleness and finally collection. She is a student, and will always be a student of dressage. That open-mindedness gives Mary many tools in which she may approach a particular horse or rider's issues, rather then only being able to help a horse/rider combination that fits into her "program".
